New Year's Eve (1/2 Day)**
** These days are regular work days for Physician Assistants unless they fall on a weekend day or unless they have been approved for PTO.
For the office staff, all the above are paid days off with the exception of on-call personnel.
For office staff paid holidays that fall on a Saturday will be observed on the preceding Friday. Paid holidays which fall on a Sunday will be observed on Monday (following federal schedules). Christmas eve and new year’s eve are as they fall on the calendar, no substitutions will be made.
For Physician Assistants, your availability is contingent upon the regular working schedule of the operating rooms. For Physician Assistants the holidays are as they fall on the calendar. No substitutions will be made. Operating rooms are open for emergent cases only on holidays whether they fall on a week day or weekend day, subsequently USA’s Physician Assistants will have these holidays off unless they are on-call.
Staff must work their scheduled workday before and after the holiday in order to be paid, unless they are absent with prior permission from their Supervisor.
Employees who have met their 90-day probationary period will receive holiday pay. Employees who have not met their 90-day probationary period will not be paid for holidays.
Religious holidays that are not recognized by the office as paid holidays may be observed with or without pay. For example, Christian holidays may be exchanged for Non-Christian holidays.
